Sector Update: Tech

01:15 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Tuesday afternoon with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) easing 0.1% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 0.4%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor index advanced 1.4%. In corporate news, Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI's annual recurring revenue is nearing $70 billion, as enterprise sales more than doubled since July, Axios reported. Separately, OpenAI said it opted to hold off on releasing its GPT-6.1 Astra model after determining that it did not meet the company's safety and alignment standards.
