Workday Plans to Cut 2.5% of Workforce

04:22 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Workday (WDAY) plans to cut about 2.5% of its workforce, mainly in its product and technology team, the company said in a regulatory filing Tuesday. The company said it plans to keep hiring in "key strategic areas" during its fiscal 2027. Workday said it will incur about $65 million to $80 million in charges, of which about $55 million to $70 million is expected to be recognized in Q3 of fiscal 2027, while $10 million is expected to be recognized in Q4 of fiscal 2027. Workday also reiterated its fiscal Q3 and fiscal 2027 guidance, except for its operating margin.
