Issuer performance and market growth
Throughout the third quarter, the most significant activity involved transfers of stablecoins across chains, but many issuers also saw strong growth. Among the leading stablecoin issuers, Circle recorded the highest increase, expanding its market cap by $915 million in the 90-day period. Ripple followed, raising its stablecoin market cap by $765.3 million, while United Stables took third place with an increase of $474.2 million.
Despite being one of the largest stablecoin issuers by overall share, Tether faced a contraction during the quarter, with its market cap decreasing by $207.7 million. Circle and Ripple stood out as the most prominent issuers in terms of growth, with Ripple now trailing only Circle by market cap growth among stablecoin providers.
The fastest-growing stablecoins were not always the largest, as Ripple’s RLUSD reached only 0.8% of the total stablecoin supply, and U stablecoin made up 0.5%. However, both products ranked second and third for market cap expansion this quarter. Tether’s USDT, which holds 61% of the overall supply, did not feature among the top ten for growth. Meanwhile, Ripple’s RLUSD also finished in the top ten for address growth, gaining 23,600 holders in Q3 2026.
Ripple’s RLUSD and ecosystem developments
Ripple SVP of Stablecoins Jack McDonald shared results from RLUSD’s independent attestation for August, noting continued progress. RLUSD’s market capitalization surpassed $2.4 billion, reflecting a monthly increase of more than 50%. Average daily activity for RLUSD has more than tripled since the start of 2026, highlighting increased utility and adoption.
Ripple SVP of Stablecoins Jack McDonald pointed to RLUSD’s ongoing growth, as its market cap exceeded $2.4 billion in August and daily transactions strengthened significantly since the beginning of the year.
Ripple also upgraded its XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit by integrating support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), co-developed with Stripe and Tempo. This addition allows developers to enable artificial intelligence agents to make one-time payments on XRP Ledger using both XRP and issued assets, including RLUSD.
Liquidity for RLUSD expanded further through Spark Finance’s Stablecoin FX Layer on Uniswap v4, where RLUSD/USDS pairs exceeded $600 million in processed volumes during their first week of trading.
Trends in meme token activity
Monitoring market dynamics is increasingly essential not just for stablecoins, but for other sectors such as meme tokens. In this market segment, viral internet trends can drive massive investment flows within days. Data shared by Fomo App highlighted a standout trade in which an initial $99 investment in the meme token “Niu Lai” soared to approximately $370,000. Keeping track of prices, timing, and token choices has become critical for participants navigating these rapid shifts. Fomo App facilitates this process by combining token discovery and trading on one platform, with features such as social feeds, investor rankings, and trade notifications.
The continued evolution of stablecoins and ecosystem tools underscores how blockchain innovation is influencing both the traditional and emerging digital asset landscapes.

Institutions Declare September Nonfarm Payrolls "Killed" October Rate Hike Expectations! "New Fed News Agency": Jobs Report Does Not Change Fed's Stance, September CPI More Important
"The New Fed's Newsletter" stated that senior Federal Reserve officials have indicated this week that a rate hike in October may not be their baseline forecast. The current report's wage and unemployment rate data do not show the labor market is tightening enough to significantly increase price pressures. Traders’ pricing for an October rate hike dropped from nearly 30% before the data release to about 20%, and at one point, markets even stopped fully pricing in another hike this year. Institutions believe the job market is characterized by “low hiring, low layoffs,” giving the Fed reason to wait for more data; a December rate hike remains possible. Market reaction suggests “bad news is good news,” as Wall Street continues to focus on the 5% US Treasury yield.
