U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated that the recent rise in U.S. Treasury yields is consistent with global trends and that there is no need for excessive panic. On Saturday, in an interview with Axios, he said: “If there were a rise with some kind of particularity, I would be concerned.” “(But) we have not seen people selling U.S. Treasuries to buy German or Japanese bonds.” “I can't control the bond market. What I can do is get people to slow down and think.” Bessent also praised the U.S. intervention in Argentina's finances and expressed openness to providing similar assistance in the future. He said: “I believe Argentina’s stability has brought about a great change in Latin America, which may be a generational shift, perhaps even unprecedented. We have never had so many Latin American countries allied with the U.S.” In addition, Bessent dismissed concerns about an AI bubble, stating that major players such as Microsoft, Google, and Meta are investing substantial amounts and driving significant revenue growth for companies like Anthropic and OpenAI.
