Finance Expert Says XRP Could See a Major Move Once This Happens
XRP could see another major price increase as investors shift focus across the cryptocurrency market, according to crypto commentator Austin Hilton.
In a video attached to his X post, Hilton examined XRP’s historical price action and compared it with recent moves from Quant and Zcash. He said these examples show how major news catalysts can quickly change market interest and push crypto assets significantly higher.
Hilton reviewed XRP’s long-term CoinMarketCap chart and pointed to several periods when the asset recorded sharp price increases. He also noted that XRP has spent extended periods consolidating before making major moves. He said other major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, have displayed similar patterns.
Quant and Zcash Set the Context
Hilton cited Quant’s recent price increase as one example of sector-driven market activity. He said Quant traded around the $50 to $60 range with little movement before major announcements triggered a significant increase.
Hilton connected Quant’s move to the real-world asset tokenization sector. He also cited Zcash, which recently increased substantially, as another example of a cryptocurrency gaining strong market momentum.
According to Hilton, these moves show how investors can rotate toward a specific sector after major developments generate new interest. He suggested the same dynamic could eventually benefit XRP if market participants focus on financial services and related cryptocurrency applications.
Hilton Connects XRP to Financial Services
Hilton described XRP as an asset associated with the financial-services sector and pointed to Ripple’s expansion across financial-services businesses. He specifically mentioned Evernorth, which he described as an XRP treasury company preparing to list on Nasdaq.
Hilton said this sector exposure gives XRP another potential source of demand beyond individual XRP-related announcements. He also placed XRP among what he described as the three major cryptocurrencies alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum, while mentioning Solana and other assets separately.
He said XRP could significantly increase as the market enters another bullish phase, even without a single specific catalyst directly affecting XRP.
XRP Has Previously Made Sharp Moves
Hilton pointed to XRP’s historical performance to support his view. He said XRP has previously gained 50%, 60%, or 70% within a few days.
He also referenced the period surrounding news about the SEC’s case against Ripple. Hilton said XRP gained roughly 200% over six to eight days during that period and used the move as an example of how strongly news cycles can influence XRP.
Hilton expects XRP to move significantly higher during the broader crypto bull run. He also said XRP could receive additional catalysts from developments across the Ripple ecosystem.
Institutional Capital Could Change Volatility
Hilton also discussed the growing role of institutional investors in cryptocurrency markets. He said increased institutional participation could reduce some of the market’s extreme price swings over time.
Although he expects cryptocurrencies to behave more like traditional stocks as institutional participation increases, he placed that potential shift several years into the future. For now, Hilton maintained that XRP’s historical price action and its exposure to financial services give investors another reason to watch for significant moves as new market catalysts emerge.
