AT&T, GIP and CPP Investment to Form US Fiber Joint Venture
MT newswire2026/10/06 12:4908:49 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AT&T (T), BlackRock's (BLK) Global Infrastructure Partners and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board have agreed to form a US new joint venture that will operate as a leading wholesale fiber commercial open access company to accelerate fiber builds in more communities, AT&T said Tuesday. The JV will include Forged Fiber 37 -- the AT&T unit that houses the fiber build engine network assets and operations the company acquired from Lumen -- as well as Gigapower -- AT&T's existing wholesale fiber JV with GIP, AT&T said.
