According to statistics from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, as of the end of September 2026, China’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $3,400.3 billions, down by $38.1 billions from the end of August, a decrease of 1.11%. In September 2026, factors such as the global macroeconomic environment and the monetary policies of major economies led to a rise in the US Dollar Index and an overall decline in global major financial asset prices. The combined effects of exchange rate conversions and changes in asset prices caused foreign exchange reserves to decrease during the month. Overall, China's economy remained stable, with emerging drivers and an improved structure.
