Fairshake-affiliated political action committee invests $2.7 million to support 2026 House candidates
Odaily reports that the Fairshake political action committee's affiliated entities, Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress, have spent a total of $2.7 million to support both Democratic and Republican candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026. The related expenditures occurred 22 days before the U.S. midterm elections.
The spending includes more than $76,000 in advertising supporting House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and $73,000 supporting House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson; California Representative Pete Aguilar and New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer received $512,000 and $500,000 in support, respectively.
Fairshake announced several days ago that it plans to support another 32 House candidates in 2026, with six of them each receiving $1 million in supportive media placements. As of August, Fairshake held $122 million in cash and plans to allocate at least $30 million in media spending to oppose Sherrod Brown's participation in the Ohio Senate election.
The above candidates all voted in 2025 to support the “Clarity for Digital Asset Markets Act” (CLARITY Act). The Act aims to establish rules for the structure of cryptocurrency markets and expand the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) authority over regulatory enforcement, but it did not pass a procedural vote in the Senate in September.
