Travelers' Business Insurance Renewal Slowdown, Weaker Margins to Weigh on Stock, UBS Says

MT newswireMT newswire2026/10/19 16:51
12:51 PM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Travelers' (TRV) sharper-than-expected slowdown in business insurance renewals and slightly weaker underlying segment margins will likely weigh on the stock despite the Q3 earnings beat and higher share repurchases, UBS Securities said Friday in a note. While investor sentiment was mixed heading into the Q3 results, estimates for 2027 will likely be revised upward on higher investment income and better-than-expected growth in surety, according to the note. Q3 core EPS of $9.18 beat UBS' estimate and Street consensus of $7.29 and $7.41, respectively, while share repurchases of $1.5 billion also exceeded UBS' estimate of $800 million, the note added. UBS kept a neutral rating on Travelers with a price target of $383. Price: 385.70, Change: -3.84, Percent Change: -0.99
