On October 19, international crude oil futures prices diverged, posting mixed results. At the close of the day, the New York Mercantile Exchange's November delivery light crude oil futures rose by $2.25 to settle at $103.66 per barrel, an increase of 2.22%. Meanwhile, December delivery Brent crude oil futures traded in the London market fell slightly by 31 cents, closing at $109.55 per barrel, a decline of 0.28%. The difference in trends between the two major crude oil futures was mainly related to market expectations of supply and demand in each region, short-term capital flows, and other factors. The future trajectory of oil prices will continue to be jointly influenced by global crude oil demand expectations, geopolitical developments, and production policies of major oil-producing countries.
