智通财经APP has learned that after the U.S. stock market closed on Tuesday, October 20 (Eastern Time), SpaceX (SPCX.US) released its second financial report since going public. If three months ago, the Q2 report—with its “revenue surpassing expectations but share price plunging 11%”—demonstrated to the market just how capital-intensive artificial intelligence (AI) could be, then this time Elon Musk provided three answers in one evening: the company is profitable—a net profit of $4.4 billion, marking its first quarterly profit since going public; AI can lead the way—revenue reached $7.56 billion, a ninefold year-on-year surge, exceeding the combined totals of Starlink and rocket launches; and the merger with Tesla (TSLA.US) is real—Musk himself confirmed on the earnings call that SpaceX and Tesla have established a committee to discuss merger matters.
