  • Monero extended its weekly rally to about 20%, trading just below $650 in the initial snapshot before a later market reading showed $XMR near $630.66.
  • Analysts highlighted $750 and $1,000 as potential technical targets, but both depend on breakout confirmation and sustained demand rather than representing guaranteed outcomes.
  • Exchange inflows, an RSI near 70 and disputed open-interest claims introduce caution even as privacy coins remain among the market’s strongest performers.

Monero extended its weekly rally climbing 20% over seven days and trading just below $650 in the initial snapshot, its strongest level since January. A later market reading placed $XMR near $630.66, showing a retracement after the surge. The advance keeps Monero among the strongest privacy coins while leaving $1,000 as an analyst target, not a confirmed destination. Monero’s privacy-focused design remains central to its market identity and broader role among privacy-focused cryptocurrencies.

Monero Rally Puts Higher Technical Targets in Focus

The move followed the release of Monero GUI v0.18.5.4, “Fluorine Fermi,” an update that reopened testnet and stagenet wallets and included bug fixes. The timing coincided with renewed market attention, although price action alone cannot establish that the software release caused the rally. $XMR also pushed through the $630-$640 resistance area highlighted by analysts after weeks of consolidation. Similar bursts have previously returned Monero and other privacy coins to market focus.

The bullish case centers on chart structures rather than a fundamental valuation target. Analyst Sweep said $XMR could reach a new all-time high and possibly $1,000 in coming months, while Alaoui Capital identified a multi-year cup-and-handle pattern with a potential measured move toward the same level. The $1,000 figure is therefore a technical projection from analysts, not a guaranteed price objective. The discussion also revives comparisons between Monero and Zcash after ZEC’s earlier rally.

Shorter-term signals are less one-sided. Another analyst argued that a confirmed breakout could open a path toward $750 if $XMR successfully retests the former resistance zone. Meanwhile, exchange netflows showed inflows exceeding outflows over several days, while the RSI approached 70. Those indicators introduce the possibility of a cooldown even as the weekly trend remains positive. Exchange inflows can increase immediately tradable supply, but they do not prove holders have sold or intend to sell.

Derivatives positioning adds uncertainty. One observer warned that Monero’s open interest had reached a record, citing a previous episode followed by a 66% decline. Santiment disputed the record characterization, saying open interest closed October 20 near $198 million, the fifth-highest daily close in a year. The disagreement reinforces the need to separate bullish price momentum from claims about leverage extremes. Monero’s 20% weekly gain keeps the privacy trade active, but the path toward $1,000 remains conditional on sustained demand, confirmation and follow-through across the privacy coin market.

Once frenzied buying, now the "ammunition warehouse" shrinks by 51 trillion KRW! Korean retail investors can no longer afford to buy

In four months, Korean retail investors' "ammunition stockpile" has dropped by 36.5%, returning to levels seen at the beginning of the year. Although retail investors have collectively made net purchases exceeding 75 trillion won, they are still absorbing the sell-off, but the influx of new funds has dried up, and the replenishment rate lags far behind the consumption rate. Combined with the KOSPI plunging nearly 20% this month, continued net selling by foreign investors, and concerns over AI-related credit risks, the Korean stock market may find it difficult to see a sustained rebound in the short term without support from private investors' funds.

The Collapse of "Consensus Trading" and the Birth of a New Consensus! Goldman Sachs Explains: Why Institutions Are Currently Significantly Reducing AI Holdings

The extremely crowded trade of "going long on AI, short on everything else" is undergoing a painful unwinding—markets are no longer satisfied with the "burn rate narrative." Mega-scale cloud providers must deliver real, visible revenue conversions alongside $1.1 trillion in capital expenditures. A power gap of 40-50 gigawatts, rising capital costs, and a macro paradigm shift from an era of "overspending" are turning AI trades from a matter of faith into a harsh test of monetization.
