American Express reported third-quarter revenue of $20.06 billion, below the expected $20.12 billion. Earnings per share for the third quarter were $5.42; adjusted earnings per share for the third quarter were $4.68. American Express expects full-year earnings per share to be in the range of $18.30-$18.60, previously forecasted at $17.30-$17.90. American Express shares rose 0.6% in pre-market trading.
