Just about three months after listing, two SK Hynix leveraged ETFs are set to be delisted in the United States.
Tradr ETFs announced that its two leveraged products linked to SK Hynix ADRs will be liquidated and delisted around November 12, with one being long and the other short. Despite only being listed for a few months, their combined scale has shrunk to about $1.3 million, down more than 60% from their peak. SK Hynix's Seoul stock price has fallen 56% from its high, similar products in the industry are generally under pressure, and South Korea has also further tightened regulations on leveraged products.
Two US leveraged ETFs linked to SK Hynix will be liquidated and delisted in November, becoming yet another casualty amid waning enthusiasm for AI-related trading.
ETF provider Tradr ETFs announced that its two leveraged products tracking SK Hynix American Depositary Receipts (ADR)—one long and one short—will be liquidated around November 12. Both funds saw their assets shrink dramatically within months after listing, with their combined size now at about $1.3 million, down over 60% from their peak.
SK Hynix’s Seoul-listed share price has dropped 56% from its historical high, as optimism toward AI infrastructure investments is giving way to concerns about high financing costs. This trend has directly eroded market demand for leveraged products tied to the company.

Poor Performance and Rapid Shrinking of Assets
Both Tradr ETFs products debuted on July 28 this year, only a few weeks after SK Hynix ADR began trading. Since their listing, the Tradr 2X Long SK Hynix Daily ETF has fallen over 5%, while the short fund has plummeted as much as 42%. In contrast, SK Hynix ADR rose about 5% over the same period, significantly outperforming the two leveraged funds.
Both funds provide twice the daily return, or twice the inverse return, of SK Hynix ADR. However, affected by the underlying asset's volatility and leveraged decay, their performance consistently lagged expectations, triggering accelerated investor withdrawals.
AI Trading Retreat Pressures Similar Products
SK Hynix and peer Samsung Electronics saw significant share price swings this year, with fast-moving capital flows tied to the AI theme intensifying market volatility. Tradr ETFs are not alone—institutions such as ProShares, Leverage Shares, and Direxion also launched leveraged products linked to SK Hynix.
According to Bloomberg data, since Tradr ETFs’ listing, leveraged products as a group have underperformed SK Hynix ADR. Meanwhile, domestic Korean regulators have recently begun tightening rules on leveraged products that magnify daily volatility. Previous reports indicated that Korean investors have accumulated $1.7 billion in losses from holding leveraged ETFs.
SK Hynix’s Seoul-listed stock has dropped more than half from its all-time high, a loss of 56%. The driving logic behind this round of correction is growing concern over the high financing costs required for large-scale AI infrastructure expansion, which is gradually overshadowing optimism about surging AI demand. This shift in sentiment has directly translated into shrinking demand for related leveraged ETFs, accelerating both their asset contractions and delisting process.
