I see a lot of people being bearish on $CYS and a lot of people asking what Cysic is about, so I thought I’d share. I’m not affiliated in any ways. So, in order to fully explain what Cysik aims to do, we first need to talk about zkProofs. This is a long post, but bear with me; This is an important concept to understand if you intend to be in crypto over the next few years. Zero-Knowledge proofs is a method of verification that lets the proof-requester verify a claim, without having to know anything about the system of entity that produced the claim. Here’s a very simple and crude metaphor: I show you that I have one red marker in my left hand, and one green marker in my right hand. I move my hands behind my back, swapping the markers so that you have no way of knowing which hand holds which marker. Then I make the claim that: «I have the green marker in my left hand» 🟢✋🏻 You ask to see proof. Now, instead of showing you my left hand with the green marker, I keep my left hand behind my back, and instead show you that my right hand holds the red marker. You can conclude that since the 🔴 marker is in my right hand 🤚🏻, and I hold one green an one red marker, the claim must be true. I have thus proven my claim, without showing you the object I’m making claims about (🟢 marker) or the location of it; I did not have to present you with any new information, and you could still verify the truthiness of my claim. Like I said, this is a crude example. But unless I am a magician or could teleport the green marker without your knowledge, the metaphor holds up. Now, back to the tech space: Most of block chain revolves around proofs, right - Proof of Work, Proof of Stake, etc. Consensus mechanisms typically doesn’t require the proof to be privacy preserving, since all miners and validators runs on the same protocol; a fake proof would quickly get discarded by the network, because the proof signature don’t match the validation networks algorithmic signature. But consensus mechanisms are not the only thing that requires proofs. With increasing mainstream adoption, and with more and companies seeking to leverage this new, "incorruptible" technology that distributed ledgers provide, new requirements arise. For instance, if «Company X» need to run their program on multiple servers around the world, they need to either own the servers physically and have staff at every location, or trust that their cloud providers servers are secure, tamper proof, and honest. This has been the model for years, and it has usually worked just fine. Now, picture that «Company X»’ program is running a report generation program for sensitive data, like medical records. «Fine» isn’t good enough then. A databreech could expose the company’s customers highly sensitive data, which would be devastating to the clients personal life’s, and to the company’s reputation. And even if the cloud provider is reputable, all it takes is one bad actor, a disgruntled employee with an incentive, and the trust and reputation means nothing. With decentralized compute, a bad actor would need to control 51% of the networks validators to be able to perform such an attack; and thus the need for trust is dissolved. But here in lies a different problem: when the workload is split across personal computers and validator nodes, how can Company X verify that their program ran the way it should, that all the data was processed correctly, and that the logs and results aren’t tampered with? Normally they couldn’t - not without owning the hardware. The cloud provider route does not fully resolve this either; Company X would need to trust that the provider is treating their data securely and that it would report any breaches with full transparency. However, Company X’s clients doesn’t care who is to blame; they care that their private data got leaked, and Company X would still be the party the victims hold accountable. This is where zkProofs start to have real impact on real issues that concern us all. With decentralized compute and encrypted execution environments, hacking a single computer that’s performing a sensitive task, would instantly burn that computers local copy of the data and exclude it from the network participation until proven secure again. No sensitive data leaked. The company dispatches the sensitive workload, and the network delegates the tasks to various zk provers. What comes back when the workload is complete, is the results, the logs, and a cryptographically secure signature that attests to the fact that «the program was ran, in full, with no issues. The input data, the program, and the produced output and logs are verified, and never seen by anyone». This is called «remote attestarion», and it is only possible due to zkProofs, otherwise the network could not attest to the successful operation without reading the data, the program and the logs - which in it self would be a privacy concern. At this point you’re probably wondering what the heck this has to do with Cysik. Follow me for part 2! .. Just kidding. So, zk proofs hold a lot of potential in regards to privacy preserving transparency. Let that sentence sink in for a minute. There’s only one small problem: the computations that produce these proofs is slow and complex, and it requires different algorithms for CPU-based computation than for GPU-based computation. This makes zkProof as a concept sharded, with no straight forward standards. Cysik address this problem directly, with a unified framework that not only scales effortlessly, but also routes the computational operations to the most effective available system that can complete the task at the lowest cost, whether the operation is CPU-bound or GPU bound. This positions Cysik to (possibly) become the standard for efficient remote attestation, and their approach has already been proven by third party audits to be over 9% faster than any other solution. Additionally, Cysik has designed their own ASIC chips especially for producing proofs. With the Agentic AI era looming, I personally think Cysik is a great bet, because an agent needs persistent memory, verifiable data, and an audit trail - but having these files and being able to use them means nothing if the agent has no way of knowing if the data has been tampered with or is otherwise compromised. With zkProofs, all the agent needs to do is verify one hashsignature at startup, and it can trust it’s memory again. Cysik aims to create a ComputeFi marketplace, which also means that you can purchase verified AI inference directly, and it’s often cheaper than competitors - even for Claude and CGPT.
