Financial Times: Several Allies of Reform UK's Leader Establish Companies and Political Interests in Montenegro
Foresight News reports, according to the Financial Times, that several key allies of UK Reform Party leader Nigel Farage have established significant business and political footholds in Montenegro. This group includes Christopher Harborne, a major Tether investor who gifted £5 million to Farage; Reform Party board member Gawain Towler; former party finance chief Mehrtash A'zami; and long-term aide George Cottrell, who has previously served prison time in the US for fraud.
Montenegro’s current Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić, is an active supporter of the crypto industry and once aimed for crypto mining and trading to account for nearly one-third of Montenegro’s GDP. He was also an early investor in the now-collapsed Terraform Labs. Cottrell’s political consulting firm, Geostrategy, has an office in Montenegro and is alleged to have supported Spajić’s election campaign, though his lawyer has denied the allegations. The Reform Party advocates turning the UK into a crypto hub through regulatory reform, with Harborne being the party’s largest donor.
