According to Golden Ten Data on July 14, BCA Research analyst Felix Vezina-Poirier stated in a report that surging oil prices may prompt the United States and Iran to de-escalate the Middle East conflict. "Both sides are willing to demonstrate their strength, but neither wants to see the consequences of a larger-scale escalation." As oil prices continue to rise, this may facilitate a resolution to the conflict. He said: "There is a risk that oil prices might break through the 'dynamic equilibrium' range of $70 to $90 per barrel, but such a surge itself would trigger de-escalation mechanisms."
