Glonghui, July 16 — NVIDIA and four leading Japanese industrial automation companies announced an expansion of their collaboration in robotics development, further advancing Jensen Huang's push into artificial intelligence hardware. Fujitsu, Fanuc, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Yaskawa Electric will join the NVIDIA-led Cosmos Alliance. The alliance aims to accelerate the adoption of the so-called "physical AI" using the NVIDIA platform. Physical AI covers a wide range of hardware applications, including humanoid robots, factory automation, autonomous vehicles, as well as smart buildings and rail transit systems. Hitachi, NEC, Komatsu, and Kubota will also join the alliance. Prior to this collaboration announcement, NVIDIA this week released a series of new technologies aimed at accelerating robotics development, launching Cosmos 3-H—a lightweight version of its world foundation model for physical AI development, capable of running on edge computing devices. At the same time, NVIDIA released two new robotic computers, Jetson T3000 and Jetson T2000, which are positioned between the flagship T4000 series and the AGX Orin platform.
