XRPL Validator: What You Need to Understand About XRP and Its Price
The XRPL supports settlement, tokenization, credit, and trading. Within that ecosystem, XRP holds a specific technical position that no other asset on the ledger shares.
Auto-Bridging and the DEX
XRP plays a role in auto-bridging on the XRPL’s decentralized exchange. Auto-bridging uses XRP to connect liquidity between trading pairs that lack a direct market, particularly for less-traded assets. As usage of the ledger grows and more assets trade on the DEX, auto-bridging triggers more often.
Vet described XRP as “the only native asset on the network without a counterparty, neutral, can’t be frozen, anyone can accept it.” That neutrality is the basis of its monetary argument. No issuer backs it. No entity can freeze it. Any participant on the network can accept it.
The Order of Operations Argument
Vet’s core position is that price should follow adoption, not lead it. “Let the price of the native asset be a knock on effect of large scale usage and acceptance of the XRP Ledger,” he wrote. A network built for settlement and tokenization at scale requires neutral money to function. Vet argues XRP fills that role by design.
The Pushback
Not everyone accepted the argument.
These responses reflect genuine tension in the community between long-term structural arguments and short-term performance expectations.
A Network Argument, Not a Price Prediction
Vet did not make a price prediction. He made a network argument. The XRPL’s value as infrastructure for settlement, credit, and tokenized assets is the foundation. XRP’s neutrality makes it the logical monetary layer within that infrastructure. Whether that argument translates into price movement remains an open question, but the technical case Vet presents is grounded in how the ledger actually operates.
